Driver Safety - A Lifetime of Learning:
What does a 16 year old girl, a 59-year old grandfather, a 41-year old skilled worker and a 28-year old sales professional all have in common? They all operate a motor vehicle and share public roadways with over 164 million other drivers. In the past 20 years, the number of miles of new roads has increased only one percent, while the number of miles driven has shot up 35 percent. Combine this ever increasing number of vehicles with changing driver behavior, increased technology and heavier vehicles, and you have a continuously changing driving environment that can present many potential risks and hazards. According to the latest National Traffic Safety Administration statistics, 27.6 million vehicles were damaged in motor vehicle accidents in the last year. A motor vehicle accident occurs every five seconds. An individual is injured in an accident every 11 seconds. Motor vehicle accidents are the number one cause of workplace fatalities and employee absenteeism. Driver Safety - A Lifetime of Learning creates an awareness and respect for the hazards associated with operating a motor vehicle, emphasizes the importance of increasing your awareness of what is happening in your driving environment, and teaches skills and techniques your drivers can use to assess the risk and reduce their chances of being involved in a motor vehicle accident. Whether you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job function or as a means of personal transportation, the decisions you make can be the difference in safely arriving at your destination. Forklift Safety - The Experienced Operator:
If government statistics indicate in 26% percent of all forklift accidents, the operator was not properly trained and certified, then that must mean in the other 74% of the accidents the operator was trained and certified. Safe operation begins before the operator ever starts to drive the lift truck. It begins with their mental state of mind. Aimed at experienced operators, this program communicates the importance of operating a forklift in a professional and safe manner and creates an awareness and respect for the potential hazards they may encounter. It establishes that the forklift operator is responsible for their safety and the safety of the people around them. The program uses the analogy and dramatic footage of the Air Force Thunderbirds to convey this message. The Thunderbirds are experienced professionals who fly thousands of hours each year with an outstanding safety record. They understand and respect the potential hazards and take measures to control them including vehicle inspection and maintenance, hazard assessment before each flight, communication, and expected performance from each pilot. These are the same components necessary to prevent forklift incidents. Forklift Safety - the Experienced Operator will motivate your drivers to use the operating skills and techniques they've been taught to prevent accidents and injuries. (14 minutes)
Hand Injury Prevention - You Control It:
A hand injury occurs in the workplace every 32 seconds. Though they usually do not grab the headlines and are not fatal in nature, over 16 million individuals seek emergency care each year for hand injuries. Hands are often in the forefront of the specific task being performed and thus are exposed to more risks. This program educates your employees on the different types of hand injuries that can occur, how to recognize common hazards found in the workplace and preventive measures to take to protect their hands. Safety is a personal responsibility. A hand injury can occur in a moment, but affect you for a lifetime. This program will motivate your workers to use best practices to prevent hand injuries. Not only is it your workers' right to know, it is their responsibility to use it to protect their safety and that of their co-workers. (18 minutes)
Hearing Conservation - You Decide What to Hear:
Excessive noise exposure is the most frequent cause of hearing loss. Approximately 30 million workers are exposed to hazardous noise on the job and millions more off the job. Hearing loss is one of the most common occupational diseases and the second most self-reported occupational injury or illnesses. Yet, because noise induced hearing loss occurs over a period of time and is not associated with instant pain and suffering, it is one of the least recognized and respected hazards by workers. In this program your employees will learn how their body hears sound and the affects excessive noise has on them. It will teach them techniques for identifying hazardous noise and educate them on best practices and procedures to reduce their exposure. Hearing Conservation - You Decide What to Hear will motivate your workers to recognize and respect the hazards and instill that they are responsible for taking proper measures to protect their hearing. Noise induced hearing loss is 100% preventable. (12 minutes)
